Charm Bracelets

Charm Bracelets

I love charm bracelets especially during the Chrismas season.  I sold almost all of the collection at the St. Faiths Christmas Fayre so watch this space for more charm style pieces.  There are four piece in the range which each have very different themes and beading.

Laila in Pink

This is a fun and  feminine bracelet which uses black and pink crackle beads, glass pearls and bicone beads.  The charms used include an umbrella, a deck of cards, a fairy, a tree and a butterfly.

Winter Wonderland

This is a lovely wintery piece that uses luscious snowflake charms and an assortment of steel blue, pale blue, royal blue and turquoise glass beads.  To add a touch of sparkle the turquoise beads have a diamante spacer framing.

Sweet Treats

This is a fun and fresh combination of hot pink and turquoise glass beading with a cream bead framed in two diamante spacer beads with tree and umbrella charms.

Shades of Purple and Pink

This charm bracelet is a more elegant and simple style from the more ornate and traditional charm bracelets.  Two shades of purple pearl glass beading have been used,  a deep violet and a pale lilac.  The only charms used in this piece are four silver plated keys which have been placed between the coloured pearl beads.

Thanks!

Zarina

Zarina

I love the combination of green aventurine and dusky pink pearl.  This has been a signature style in the MJH 2011 collection.  The 'Zarina' necklace is one of many pieces using this colour combination.

Shades of the Ocean

Shades of the Ocean
(Pale Blue and Pale Green Glass Chip Beads, White Glass Pearl Beads, Silver Plated Findings)

This piece was inspired by the Amethyst and Green Aventurine Twist piece shown earlier. This piece uses the same weaving technique but rather than using two contrasting shades on different strings.  The two shades of blue and green have been merged to create a mesh of colours.

Weaving Design Detail

This piece was inspired by the different shades of green and blue in the ocean.  I love the way the two shades of blue and green compliment each other.

Amethyst and Green Aventurine Twist Necklace

Amethyst and Green Aventurine Twist Necklace
(Amethyst, Green Aventurine, White Pearls Glass Bead, Silver Plated Bead Findings, Silver Seed Bead)

This is one of my favourite pieces in the MHJ necklace range.  The amethyst and green aventurine gemstone have been strung in alternating strings to create a weaving effect within the design.

Design detail

Each gemstone is framed with silver seed beads to make each stone stand out.  A white pearl bead has been included at intervals within the design to soften the contrasting shades of amethyst and green aventurine.

Freshwater Pearls and Rose Quartz

Freshwater Pearls and Rose Quartz
(Freshwater Rice Pearls, Cherry Quartz Beads, Pale Pink Glass Chip Beads, Rose Quartz Flower Pendant)

The Rose and Pearl necklace is a feminine and elegant piece that is designed to be worn along the collar bone.  The design incoporates a variety of soft pastel gemstones and pearls in a three string design with silver findings.

Rose Quartz Flower Pendant

The rose quartz flower pendant provide an elegant and striking focal point to the piece.  The whole necklace was created using the pendant as the starting point for the final design.

Turquoise, Pearls and Pink

Turquoise, Pearls and Pink
(Turquoise, Pearls Glass Beads, Pink Mother of Pearls Shell Beads, Silver Plated Fixtures)

This distinctive necklace uses the turquoise gemstone with a touch of pink mother of pearl shell beading to add a contrasting shade of colour.  The mother of pearl shells have been used at either end of the necklace to give a subtle touch of contrast without taking too much attention from the turquoise beading.

This is a lovely long glass pearl bead necklace with a silver plated leaf design clasp.  The different shades of pearl make this piece a very striking and colourful necklace.

Pearl and Gemstone Twist Bracelets

Pearl and Gemstone Twist Bracelets
(Gemstone Chip Bead {Amethyst, Turquoise, Green  Aventurine, Red Aventurine}, Silver Plated Leaf Clasp and Silver findings)

This series of gemstone bracelets uses a range of pearl glass bead and gemstone bead and chip stone to create really feminine and striking pieces.  Each bracelet uses two strands of gemstones which are intertwined by a larger bead creating a woven effect.  One of the most beautiful features of this range is the leaf toggle clasp.

Amethyst Twist

(Amethyst, Silver Seed Beads, Cream Pearl Glass Beads)

MHJ are all one of a kind designs and even within the same range there will be variations in terms of beading that is used.  For example, the 'Amethyst Twist' is the only bracelet in the range to incorporate silver seed beads which have been used to make the rich shades of the amethyst stone stand out and compliment the pearl beading.

Turquoise and Green Aventurine Twist

(Left:Turquoise, 4mm White Glass Pearl Beads)
(Right: Green Aventurine, Cream Glass Pearl Beads)

I have chosen to show these two pieces within the same frame to demonstrate how MHJ can produce unique pieces within the same design range.  The turquoise stone is always a very popular choice and makes a real statement with its bold bright presence.  To soften the intensity of the gemstone a 4mm white pearl glass bead has been incorporated withint the gemstone beading.

The Green Aventurine piece has a very soft and organic feel.  I love the way the cream of the pearls glass beading stands out amongst the wild random shapes of the stone.

Red Aventurine Twist

(Red Aventurine Beading and Silver Plated Findings)

This is one of the first pieces in the MHJ range that uses red aventurine gemstone.  I love the rich amber and red shades which add so much depth to this piece.  Unlike the other pieces in the range, I decided to only use red aventurine as there were so many different shades within the stone itself that I did not want to overwhelm the piece with a constrasting shade of bead.

Pearls and Ruffles

Pearls and Ruffles

(Silver Plated, Pearl Glass Beading, Green Aventurine Beads, Silver Bead Caps)

The inspiration for this line was the ruffle or ruff collar worn in the Elizabethan era.  The beads are closely framed by the ruffled bead caps very much like the ruffs worn around the neck.  In each of the pieces I have used two shades of beads.

White and Dark Green

A really lovely combination of pure elegant white pearl and a drop of colour with the subtle yet very rich shade of dark green.

Green Aventurine and Dusky Pink Pearl

I love this combination of green aventurine and dusky pink.  The two colours work really beautifully together.

Double Pink

A lovely piece that uses two tones of pink beading - a rich dark pink with a dusky pink accent looks really beautiful and feminine.

Thanks

Aliya

Green and Black

Green and Black

(Silver Plated, Black Gemstone, Black Seed Beads, Green Glass Beads, Black Pearl Beads)

The Black and Green line is quite a different style to the more soft and feminine style that dominates the Mio Handmade Jewellery range.

The bracelet uses black stone, green crackle bead and black seed beads to give a really rich and dramatic effect.  The bracelet uses a weaving technique which makes this piece really unique.

Bracelet Detail

There are three different earring options that each have their own style and inspiration whilst remaining within the beautiful colour range of rich black and jungle green.

Single Drop

A simple elegant piece which uses green with an accent of black beading.  The smaller green bead that is framed by two black seed beads has smalle black details painted on to bring the green and black shades together.

Green and Black Drops

Left - Green with a Black Accent
Right - Black with a Green Accent

The two pairs of earrings have been crafted in the same way to allow for a cluster of various stone within the same piece.  However, the piece on the left uses more green shades with an accent of black.  The piece on the right uses two different sizes of black pearls, black stone and green and black painted beads to add the slightest hint of green.

Dangle Earring in Pink Pearl

Dangle Earring in Pink Pearl

(Silver plated, pink pearl glass beads, silver net ball findings)

This range uses two shades of pearl and a beautifully engraved silver plated finding.  The graduation of the beading from a small 4mm to a larger 8mm pearl helps to balance out this elegant design.

This piece incoporate a really deep rich shade of pink that is rarely used in jewellery.  The photograph does not capture the two different shades of pink pearl used in the piece to add a unique to touch to this classis design.

This piece uses a much lighter shade of pink pearl than the previous design.  In order to make this piece striking I have used a contrasting blue/grey pearl.   It took quite a while to find the correct combination of bead shades but I am very happy with the final piece.

Thanks

The Secret Garden

The Secret Garden

(Silver Plated, Amethyst Chip Gemstone, Green Aventurine Chip Gemstone, Rose Quartz, Pink Mother of Pearl, Glass Pearl Beads)

This earring and necklace set was inspired by Frances Hodgson Burnett's classic novel 'The Secret Garden'.  I have mixed the three gemstones with the pearl to give a soft and delicate touch of colour to this pearl necklace and earring set.

Necklace Detail

The pink mother of pearl bead is beautifully framed by two silver plated bead details which then transition to amethyst and green aventurine gemstone.  The brilliant white pearl bead adds a softness to the beautiful sequence of coloured gemstones.

Secret Garden Earring

(Silver Plated, Pearl Beads, Green Aventurine, Amethyst and Rose Quartz)

These are one of my favourite earrings in the MHJ collection.  I chose not to include the mother of pearl beading in the earring as I wanted this piece to be quite soft and delicate so I felt it would be more effective to use smaller stones.

The amethyst, rose quartz and green aventurine gemstone have been suspended on a clear wire to give the illusion that they are floating under the pearl.

Pearl and Wood Drops

Pearl and Wood Drops
(Silver Plated, Mother of Pearl Gemstone Chip Bead, Turquoise Chip Bead and  Wood Beads)

The incorpation of wooden bead in this range adds an organic element to the piece which  highlights the beautiful pure colours of the mother of pearl and turquoise gemstones.

Pearl and Gem Drops

Pearl and Gem Drops
(Siver Plated, Freshwater pearls, Glass beads, Bicone Beads, Rose Quartz, Clear Quartz)

The pearl and gem drop earring range has been handcrafted using a variety of stones and beads.  Each piece uses a  combination of materials that is unique to that particular earring.

Deep Candy Drops

(Fuchsia Freshwater Pears, Glass Pear Beads, Clear Quarts and Glass Bicone Beads)

This is a lovely mix of stones.  I love the range of shades within this earring and the variation of shapes and sizing of the different gems.

Blush Pink Drops

(Pale Pink Freshwater Pearls, Rose Quartz, Glass Pearl Beads, Clear Bicone Beads)

A truly feminine piece.  The pale pink freshwater pearl sets the tone for the rose quartz and pearls.

Pure Ivory Drops

(Glass Pearl Beads)

This piece feels very bridal.  I chose to use only ivory glass beads to give a pure and classic feel to this piece.

Creme Caramel Drop

( Freshwater Pearls, Crackle Beada, Glass Pearl Beads, Glass Bicone Beads)

I wanted to incorporate a more bold shade in this line and I felt that using a combination of rich brown and bronze gems would create an unusual piece.

The dark freshwater pearl is the focal point of the piece.  The lighter brown and caramel hues of the glass beading act to soften the whole composition.  I also included a single white pearl bead to add a lighter touch to the piece.

Thanks:)

Freshwater Pearl Teardrop Earrings

Freshwater Pearl Teardrop Earrings
(Silver Plated, Freshwater Pearls)

These teardrop earrings are one of the more simple designs at Mio Handmade Jewellery.  Each earring has a freshwater pearl attached to the top of the teardrop frame.  The line comes in four different colours: Fuchsia, Pale Pink, Light Green, Deep Blue and Copper Gold.

I love the simple elegance of this range.  Designing jewellery is a real process and this project was no exception.  I had initially planned to make incorporate a lot more beading into the frame of the earring but upon reflection I realised that the true beauty of the design is in its clean lines.

Pink Mother of Pearl and Freshwater Pearl Dangling Earrings

Pink Mother of Pearl and Freshwater Pearl Dangling Earrings
(Silver Plated, Mother of Pearl, Freshwater Pearls, Silver Glass Beads)

I have always wanted to do a really fun and feminine dangle earring using real gemstones and this is one of my favourite pieces.  This piece  makes such a statement that it could be worn without any other accessories.

Each earring consists of two mother of pearl beads that naturally sparkle in the light and to add a little bit of extra movement to this piece at the end of the earring shaft is a freshwater pearl.  It was really important to make sure that this piece had a lot of movement to maximise the sparkle so each section has been made on a separate piece of wire and attached together.  Small silver seed beads have also been included into the design to add some more depth and unity between the three sections of the earring.

Thanks

Aliya
