Dangle Earring in Pink Pearl

Dangle Earring in Pink Pearl

(Silver plated, pink pearl glass beads, silver net ball findings)

This range uses two shades of pearl and a beautifully engraved silver plated finding.  The graduation of the beading from a small 4mm to a larger 8mm pearl helps to balance out this elegant design.

This piece incoporate a really deep rich shade of pink that is rarely used in jewellery.  The photograph does not capture the two different shades of pink pearl used in the piece to add a unique to touch to this classis design.

This piece uses a much lighter shade of pink pearl than the previous design.  In order to make this piece striking I have used a contrasting blue/grey pearl.   It took quite a while to find the correct combination of bead shades but I am very happy with the final piece.

Thanks

The Secret Garden

The Secret Garden

(Silver Plated, Amethyst Chip Gemstone, Green Aventurine Chip Gemstone, Rose Quartz, Pink Mother of Pearl, Glass Pearl Beads)

This earring and necklace set was inspired by Frances Hodgson Burnett's classic novel 'The Secret Garden'.  I have mixed the three gemstones with the pearl to give a soft and delicate touch of colour to this pearl necklace and earring set.

Necklace Detail

The pink mother of pearl bead is beautifully framed by two silver plated bead details which then transition to amethyst and green aventurine gemstone.  The brilliant white pearl bead adds a softness to the beautiful sequence of coloured gemstones.

Secret Garden Earring

(Silver Plated, Pearl Beads, Green Aventurine, Amethyst and Rose Quartz)

These are one of my favourite earrings in the MHJ collection.  I chose not to include the mother of pearl beading in the earring as I wanted this piece to be quite soft and delicate so I felt it would be more effective to use smaller stones.

The amethyst, rose quartz and green aventurine gemstone have been suspended on a clear wire to give the illusion that they are floating under the pearl.

Thanks!

(Silver Plated, Mother of Pearl Gemstone Chip Bead, Turquoise Chip Bead and  Wood Beads)

The incorpation of wooden bead in this range adds an organic element to the piece which  highlights the beautiful pure colours of the mother of pearl and turquoise gemstones.

Pearl and Gem Drops

Pearl and Gem Drops
(Siver Plated, Freshwater pearls, Glass beads, Bicone Beads, Rose Quartz, Clear Quartz)

The pearl and gem drop earring range has been handcrafted using a variety of stones and beads.  Each piece uses a  combination of materials that is unique to that particular earring.

Deep Candy Drops

(Fuchsia Freshwater Pears, Glass Pear Beads, Clear Quarts and Glass Bicone Beads)

This is a lovely mix of stones.  I love the range of shades within this earring and the variation of shapes and sizing of the different gems.

Blush Pink Drops

(Pale Pink Freshwater Pearls, Rose Quartz, Glass Pearl Beads, Clear Bicone Beads)

A truly feminine piece.  The pale pink freshwater pearl sets the tone for the rose quartz and pearls.

Pure Ivory Drops

(Glass Pearl Beads)

This piece feels very bridal.  I chose to use only ivory glass beads to give a pure and classic feel to this piece.

Creme Caramel Drop

( Freshwater Pearls, Crackle Beada, Glass Pearl Beads, Glass Bicone Beads)

I wanted to incorporate a more bold shade in this line and I felt that using a combination of rich brown and bronze gems would create an unusual piece.

The dark freshwater pearl is the focal point of the piece.  The lighter brown and caramel hues of the glass beading act to soften the whole composition.  I also included a single white pearl bead to add a lighter touch to the piece.

Thanks:)

Freshwater Pearl Teardrop Earrings

Freshwater Pearl Teardrop Earrings
(Silver Plated, Freshwater Pearls)

These teardrop earrings are one of the more simple designs at Mio Handmade Jewellery.  Each earring has a freshwater pearl attached to the top of the teardrop frame.  The line comes in four different colours: Fuchsia, Pale Pink, Light Green, Deep Blue and Copper Gold.

I love the simple elegance of this range.  Designing jewellery is a real process and this project was no exception.  I had initially planned to make incorporate a lot more beading into the frame of the earring but upon reflection I realised that the true beauty of the design is in its clean lines.

Pink Mother of Pearl and Freshwater Pearl Dangling Earrings

Pink Mother of Pearl and Freshwater Pearl Dangling Earrings
(Silver Plated, Mother of Pearl, Freshwater Pearls, Silver Glass Beads)

I have always wanted to do a really fun and feminine dangle earring using real gemstones and this is one of my favourite pieces.  This piece  makes such a statement that it could be worn without any other accessories.

Each earring consists of two mother of pearl beads that naturally sparkle in the light and to add a little bit of extra movement to this piece at the end of the earring shaft is a freshwater pearl.  It was really important to make sure that this piece had a lot of movement to maximise the sparkle so each section has been made on a separate piece of wire and attached together.  Small silver seed beads have also been included into the design to add some more depth and unity between the three sections of the earring.

Thanks

Green Aventurine and Pearl Set

Green Aventurine and Pearl Set
(Silver Plated, Green Aventurine, Pearl Glass)

This is a subtle and elegant earring and necklace set which really can be worn with anything.  The shade of green is lovely and soft and really compliments the white pearl glass beading.  The necklace is an illusion necklace that cuts quite close to the neck at 16 inches (extenders have  been added for those who prefer a slightly longer length).

The earrings are simple white glass beads with two green aventurine gems framing the pearl on either side.  This arrangement is carried through in the necklace.

Thank you :)

Under the Sea (Pink Mother of Pearl and Turquoise)

 Under the Sea
(Silver Plated, Pink Mother of Pearl, Turquoise  and Glass Pearl Beads)

(Earring and Necklace Set)

This is a real statement piece and looks really lovely when worn as a set.  The necklace is what is known as an illusion necklace whereby the beads are set in place on a clear strand to make it appear that they are floating along the neckline.

Normally illusion necklaces are cut very close to the neck and in many of our pieces this is the case.  However, as the mother of pearl and turquoise make quite a striking combination, I have chosen to make the necklace 18 inches rather than the standard 16 inches to allow the arrangement to sit slightly below the collar bone.

Classic Pearl Drop Earrings (with a splash of colour)

Classic Pearl Drop Earrings with a splash of colour

Mio Handmade Jewellery incorporates pearls into many of it designs and uses a range of different types of pearls (pearl tinted glass beads, fresh water pearls, potato pearls). Often pearl jewellery is used to give a soft, very feminine touch to a piece.  However, pearls can be both sophisticated and striking when combined with more rich colours which is why I have chosen to use burnt orange and deep purple into a classic pearl drop earring design.

Deep Purple
(Glass pearl bead, deep purple glass bead, silver plated fixtures)

Look out for more variations in dark blue and forest green!

Tibetan Heart Chandelier Earrings

These beautiful chandelier earrings are a favourite  at Mio Handmade Jewellery.  An elegant earring that can be worn to add a little glamour to any outfit.  This piece comes in three combinations: shades of blue, shades of burgundy and amber and multicoloured.

Shades of Blue
(Silver Plated, Blue and Black glass beading and silver plated fixture details)

This is a truly elegant piece and can be worn with a pair of jeans or an LBD.  Blue has become a really popular shade ever since the Duchess of Cambridge wore her royal blue engagement dress and this piece has really been inspired by that dress.

Three different shades of blue crystal glass bead have been used which graduate in colour throughout the earring.  I have also incorporated some black and silver beading to add depth to the different shades of blue.

Shades of Burgundy and Amber
(Silver Plated, Red/Bronze/Amber and Clear glass beading and silver plated fixture details)

I love using shades of red in my pieces.  I am always disappointed with the lack of jewellery available that use shades of red and amber in a feminine and delicate way.

In this earring three shades of glass beading have been used and unlike the typical graduation of colours found in most jewellery (dark to light) this piece goes from light amber to a beautiful dark burgundy.  To balance the rich shades of amber and burgundy I have used clear glass beads and silver fixtures.

Multicoloured
(Silver Plated, Purple/Mauve, Turquoise, Deep Green and Light Green Beading)

The inspiration for this piece was a peacock feather so I used a really wide range of purple, blue and green glass beading.    In order to give this piece greater depth the three shades of purple, blue and green graduate from light to dark.  This earring is fun and colourful and makes an impact.
